We regularly talk to our clients after their transactions are complete. Not for the sake of it — but to understand where the real pain points are, what worked, and what we can do better. Andriy agreed to an open conversation straight away — and spoke exactly the way we like: no diplomacy, straight to the point.
Andriy is a stock market trader. He has been trading through Interactive Brokers for seven years. One of those people who prefers to handle financial matters independently: no consultants, no intermediaries, only trusted sources. He follows foreign resources, tracks a narrow circle of people on Twitter, and verifies everything himself.
But when he needed to fund his brokerage account from Ukraine to Europe for a significant amount — the wall turned out to be higher than expected. First attempt, second, third — each ended in a dead end for different reasons.
In this interview, Andriy shares how he searched for a solution, why he chose Xpaid, and what actually builds trust in a financial company you find on the internet.
«Two banks fell through — and I realised the third wouldn’t work either»
How did this task come about?
I needed to fund a brokerage account abroad. I started looking at options — Revolut, Zen and others. But those workarounds kept closing one by one. Revolut had blocked Ukrainian accounts at that point. ZenPay wasn’t accepting cards registered in Ukraine. I realised that the third option would most likely give me the same result — and started looking for something fundamentally different.
Where did you find out about Xpaid?
On Erik Nayman’s podcast. There was an interview — at exactly the moment when I needed it most. Then I saw another podcast with Oleksiy on a different channel, more focused on asset legalisation cases. Two touchpoints — both on relevant platforms.
Did you contact Xpaid straight away?
No. First I checked the comments under the podcast itself. Then searched forums — just typed «Xpaid reviews» and read what people were writing. Visited the Instagram page, Oleksiy’s page. I noticed how actively they were producing content — for me that’s one of the signals that a company is alive and real. And then — I messaged Erik directly on Telegram. Asked if they could be trusted. He replied that he had used them himself, everything went fine, and a friend of his had used them several times too. That answer probably played one of the key roles.
«Working with any company for the first time — there’s always a degree of doubt»
What was most important to you before the first transaction?
Reputation. When money is involved and the company is based abroad — if something goes wrong, there’s nowhere to turn and nothing you can say. So I was primarily looking at whether there was any negative background online. Recently a crypto company in Poland collapsed — people had given funds to be managed and they just disappeared somewhere. So it’s not paranoia, it’s just common sense.
How did the first contact with the team go?
They explained the entire process on the first call. Manager Oleksandra helped me go through the verification on the payment platform — she was even answering questions on weekends, writing at 8 in the evening. There were also additional requirements from the payment system — confirmation of the source of funds. I wrote to the group, and through you it was resolved. So I wasn’t left dealing with it alone.
«Funds in transit — that’s what causes anxiety»
What matters most to you in the transaction process?
Speed. While you can see that funds are somewhere between accounts — there’s a certain anxiety. As soon as the number appears in the account — that’s it, relief. We’ve already completed three transactions. The first two — literally a few hours. The third took a little longer, but the amount was significantly larger, so I understand.
Were there any confusing moments in the process?
No. Everything was straightforward: provide documents, go through verification, and then the process moves forward without any extra effort on my part. I was even surprised that with something this important — there were no obstacles at all. Easy, clear, precise.
